Supporting the Execution of a Japan Market Entry Project in the Hospitality Sector Led by an Overseas-Backed Team

Green Energy Consulting (“GEC”) supported the execution of a Japan market entry project in the hospitality sector led by an overseas-backed team, and successfully assisted in the completion of the land acquisition transaction and closing on 1 May 2026.

The project is being developed through a Japan-based entity established by management members with extensive international business experience, and represents their first project in the Japanese market.

As part of this engagement, GEC provided practical execution support across a range of areas, including:

  • Identification and initial assessment of potential development sites

  • Support for negotiations and alignment with landowners

  • Practical coordination and issue management relating to transaction documentation

  • Overall stakeholder coordination and execution management toward closing

  • Final execution support and coordination for transaction completion

The engagement also extends beyond the acquisition phase. Following the completion of the transaction, GEC continues to support the project in its next stages, including planning discussions, coordination with architects and construction companies, and practical alignment among stakeholders involved in the project.

In these processes, the ability to facilitate smooth communication goes beyond simple language translation. Practical execution often requires aligning different expectations, assumptions, and decision-making approaches among stakeholders to ensure the project progresses efficiently.

Executing real estate and infrastructure-related projects in Japan requires not only technical expertise, but also strong practical coordination capabilities across landowners, local stakeholders, contractual processes, and project execution. For overseas-backed teams in particular, navigating local practices and communication dynamics can present significant challenges.

Leveraging the experience developed through renewable energy and land-based infrastructure projects, GEC provides practical execution support for projects in Japan across multiple sectors.

GEC will continue supporting both domestic and international clients through hands-on execution support for projects in the Japanese market.
