Representative Profile
Yasuhito Fujimoto
Founder & CEO
Green Energy Consulting Co., Ltd. (GEC)
Overview
Yasuhito Fujimoto is an advisor with hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of renewable energy and infrastructure projects in Japan — from early-stage assessment and structuring, through acquisition and divestment decisions, stakeholder coordination, and execution support toward closing.
While his core background is in solar PV projects (high-voltage and extra-high-voltage), his scope has expanded in recent years to include battery energy storage systems (BESS) and other infrastructure assets.
He supports clients by improving decision quality and execution certainty in the Japanese market, based on a clear understanding of seller, buyer, and investor perspectives, as well as Japan-specific execution realities.
Professional Background
Mr. Fujimoto has been involved in the renewable energy sector since the early stages of Japan’s FIT scheme, working closely with developers during their formation phase on project origination, regulatory considerations, and practical execution frameworks.
During the establishment of Renewable Japan Energy. Infrastructure Fund, a listed infrastructure fund sponsored by Renewable Japan Co., Ltd., he contributed from the buy-side as Deputy Head of the Investment Management Department at RJ Investment Co., Ltd., the asset management company established for the fund.
In this role, he was responsible for acquisition-related work under an IPO-focused framework, including asset screening, acquisition evaluation, due diligence, and negotiation of acquisition terms — providing hands-on experience with investment decisions based on listing requirements and investment criteria.
Subsequently, he joined the Japanese project development arm of the Trina Solar Group, one of the world’s leading solar module manufacturers and a former Shanghai-listed company.
At Trina Solar Japan Energy, he held responsibility for both project divestment and origination, leading end-to-end sale processes for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage solar PV projects, including project marketing, commercial structuring, due diligence coordination, contract negotiation, and closing.
He later served as Head of Project Origination department, overseeing early-stage project screening, acquisition feasibility assessments, and initial structuring, with a strong focus on execution feasibility.
By consecutively experiencing both the sell-side and buy-side decision-making processes within a global energy company, he developed a deep understanding of how to structure projects with execution realism from the earliest stages.
